my 100th post and my weekend to Prague

I haven't blogged in a while due to being so busy somehow. I came back from a lovely time away from visiting Prague with Jake and i would definetley recommend it. We had a jam-packed couple of days visiting galleries,musuems,landmarks,historic interests and spending time together in the romantic city. Travelling to the Czech Republic and seeing a new culture has been an eye opener to see their periodic and historical buildings, their way of life, their means of transport, their delicassies,their language and their trade. It has encouraged me to go and book another and now i know when myuni half terms are i am very tempted as it worked out better to book in advance! Here are some photos from our trip,i'mhoping to use these as inspiration for my first project back at university.

 

 

I would love to go back again just you cannot recreate an atmosphere through pictures,as we walked across charles bridge you had a violinist playing which was just so romantic, and eating dinner outside in the heat on a terrace with horse and carriages working around you just took you back in time. The city itself was beautiful,i wonder where we will be off to next!

Can't wait for our Prague weekend.

It's coming up very soon and i cannot wait to go, i have a Prague book that i can use that was lent to me and i brought a czech phrasebook today for 50p! We are going to embrace the czech/bohemian lifestyle as we are trying to learn very simple phrases to get us by. Were hoping to walk everywhere so it gives us a chance to explore hidden streets and fascinating views. We already know some places that we would like to go and see and visit.

The charles bridge (commissioned by King Charles IV in 1357) overlooks the river vltava and sounds very historic and impressive!! Each statue along the bridge represents something or someone and we will be armed with the book so we know a little about each one. It also says that at either end of the bridge there are little towers that during the summer you can climb for 30CZK which is about 1 english pound!

The Prague Castle is home to churches, alleyways, gardens, residence and museums. In particular the toy museum. I have never heard of the toy museum but my friend mentioned about the barbie collection and so i googled it. And found that it is housed in the toy museum and has a whole floor dedicated to barbie dolls.

Old Town Square looks absolutley beautiful. I was looking on a street view on google maps of the route i would need to take, and i found some loevly patterned tiled streets amongst a ray of colourful terraced houses with intricate exterior detail. The astronomical clock is also situated here which has a wealth of history behind it.

I know i only booked it yesterday but i am really excited and seems it is a suprise for Jake i cannot share it with him ! So i have took to my blog to share some photos i found, they look amazing and cannot wait to take some of my own(although i am not very good at this!) I need to plan excursions but not sure on whether or not i should let Jake sort what he wants too do, seems it is for his birthday? Or i am thinking would it be even nicer for him not to have to worry and let the surprises continue?!

Wenceslas Square during the day with all the hustle and bustle, this sort of area reminds me of our very own Buckingham Palace! But infact this is a photo of the national museum in wenceslas square! I would like to go to this!!!!

Another sight i think Jake will love as he is into all things historical and cultural is the Charles Bridge!

This just looks so romantic and beautiful. We don't have that many historical attractions as big as this and mostly you'll find them in London so it'll be exciting to see this and compare it to the likes of Tower Bridge and London Bridge!

This looks a very pretty building. Its the st vitus cathedral, i believe that Prague is known for it's architecture! So will definetley getting many snaps of all the different types of buildings they have...

   

Vltava river and Charles Bridge. Our hotel i think is a 5 minute walk from the vltava river which will be lovely for evening walks and to see many different sights. The Charles Bridge then leads to the Prague Castle.

I haven't looked at a price list, but from reviews Prague is fairly cheap. My cousin went not so long ago with her partner and said it was beautiful....
