my 100th post and my weekend to Prague

I haven't blogged in a while due to being so busy somehow. I came back from a lovely time away from visiting Prague with Jake and i would definetley recommend it. We had a jam-packed couple of days visiting galleries, musuems, landmarks, historic interests and spending time together in the romantic city. Travelling to the Czech Republic and seeing a new culture has been an eye opener to see their periodic and historical buildings, their way of life, their means of transport, their delicassies, their language and their trade. It has encouraged me to go and book another and now i know when myuni half terms are i am very tempted as it worked out better to book in advance! Here are some photos from our trip,i'mhoping to use these as inspiration for my first project back at university.

I would love to go back again just you cannot recreate an atmosphere through pictures,as we walked across charles bridge you had a violinist playing which was just so romantic, and eating dinner outside in the heat on a terrace with horse and carriages working around you just took you back in time. The city itself was beautiful,i wonder where we will be off to next!

absolutley loving: free embroidery drawings

It's something i have always done but these couple of days i feel a new energy to keep going with it. It's lovely when i start adding colour and seeing the drawing come to life cannot wait to frame them in contrasting colours to add colour.. and to obviously hang them up in my room/future house! Today after work i drew with stitch a photo of London from my birthday weekend away. It's a lovely landscape image in St James Park on the bridge with the London Eye in the background. We had a lovely time, and the picture brings all the memories back!

i particularly like the london eye and its carriages as i have used fabric to give it a quirky edge!

great idea: sewing mine and jakes adventures into personalised pictures

Today i had a free afternoon whilst Jake was at work i had some time for myself. I've had a busy week camping away with friends, and this weekend i will be working and then i'm off camping again with my family!!
I had a great idea that i could document mine and jakes life together through textiles, with where we have been together. When we move out together, we would have some bits to add to our walls to make it our own personal space. Not only would they mean something to us but because i've made them, it would make it that more special to think that we've got something indivdual and unique to share with everyone. It's like my interpretation of how i saw that day even though i have worked from original photographs. I really enjoyed doing this and will continue too do so!

a birthday weekend( during the week )away!

Just like my birthday when me and jake went to London for a spot of shopping and sightseeing, me and jake headed to the north norfolk coast for jakes birthday. We were lucky with the weather, when we had arranged it, i kind of expected storms and rain showers, but to my suprise the first day was full of sunshine and the second day was warm so allowed us to get out and about! It was lovely to getaway (even though we have only just come back from a summer holiday!) as it kept our holiday blues at bay and allowed us to make the most of being with one another....
Our first day was spent by the seaside, spending most of it on the beach in the sun, eating ice cream from the ice cream shop on the corner and eating fish and chips from the 'famous' mary janes, which was very satisfying! The evening was spent by the pier and within many arcades (one of jakes favourite past-times!).
what jake won me:

Our second day was spent doing everything Jake would have wanted as it was the day of he turned a whole year older! & the best part about it was i could finally give him my present! I have booked it since the end of may and had to keep it a secret since then, which has been incredibly difficult i even suprised myself when i gave it to him just how much i had done to disguise the fact i had planned everything for our city break!! He seemed very happy with it and now i cannot wait to go even more, i can finally share my excitement with him...!
We spent the morning at Amazona zoo, that specialises in southern american animals, though they didn't have alot but had some lovely scenic landscapes and views.. the area was very pretty and they had a really good gift shop..

After lunch Jake had the urge to travel to Wroxham to see the wonders and fantasies of Bewilderwood.. I have been before, with my little brothers and sisters, but as Jake is a bigkid at heart i thought he would enjoy it and so did i we ended up spending most of the day there. Bewilderwood is based on a local authors story books named Tom Blofield. We went on a little boat trip and saw Mildred the Crocobog! All the little 'twiggles' and their houses as they were called. Here are some photos from our day there:

Our last day was spent relaxing and we went out for a lovely and very large meal to fully celebrate his birthday. Hopefully it has been a special time for him this year, heres to this one and to many to follow :) Love you Jake x
