a birthday weekend( during the week )away!

Just like my birthday when me and jake went to London for a spot of shopping and sightseeing, me and jake headed to the north norfolk coast for jakes birthday. We were lucky with the weather, when we had arranged it, i kind of expected storms and rain showers, but to my suprise the first day was full of sunshine and the second day was warm so allowed us to get out and about! It was lovely to getaway (even though we have only just come back from a summer holiday!) as it kept our holiday blues at bay and allowed us to make the most of being with one another....
Our first day was spent by the seaside, spending most of it on the beach in the sun, eating ice cream from the ice cream shop on the corner and eating fish and chips from the 'famous' mary janes, which was very satisfying! The evening was spent by the pier and within many arcades (one of jakes favourite past-times!).
what jake won me:

Our second day was spent doing everything Jake would have wanted as it was the day of he turned a whole year older! & the best part about it was i could finally give him my present! I have booked it since the end of may and had to keep it a secret since then, which has been incredibly difficult i even suprised myself when i gave it to him just how much i had done to disguise the fact i had planned everything for our city break!! He seemed very happy with it and now i cannot wait to go even more, i can finally share my excitement with him...!
We spent the morning at Amazona zoo, that specialises in southern american animals, though they didn't have alot but had some lovely scenic landscapes and views.. the area was very pretty and they had a really good gift shop..

After lunch Jake had the urge to travel to Wroxham to see the wonders and fantasies of Bewilderwood.. I have been before, with my little brothers and sisters, but as Jake is a bigkid at heart i thought he would enjoy it and so did i we ended up spending most of the day there. Bewilderwood is based on a local authors story books named Tom Blofield. We went on a little boat trip and saw Mildred the Crocobog! All the little 'twiggles' and their houses as they were called. Here are some photos from our day there:

Our last day was spent relaxing and we went out for a lovely and very large meal to fully celebrate his birthday. Hopefully it has been a special time for him this year, heres to this one and to many to follow :) Love you Jake x

Jeans 60th Birthday Meal

On Thursday i ate so much! We went out as a big extended family to celebrate my step-mums 60th birthday at The Stag. I had a cavery (which i highly reccomend!) and belgian chocolate waffles. Doesn't sound much? The carvery was like a buffet and the waffles were served with ice cream and hot chocolate fudge sauce, to say the least it's not my typical sized portion for a dinner meal! Nevertheless it was a great evening with everyone, and Jean i believe loved her presents, i'm rather jealous that she has a new (vintage) basket to go onto bike - i want a bike with a basket! (still on the hunt note to self: i will have one by christmas! She also received some family photographs and jewellery, it was a lovely way to celebrate!

evening out with my family.

Tonight as you would have read from my previous post we went out for my dads birthday at an american themed restaurant. I ate so much, but it was a lovely time the atmosphere was relaxed and it was a chance for all of the family (well dads side) to be together. We all managed to leave something but that was because the portions were absolutley huge! But we managed to squeeze in dessert too ;) You can't really go to a restaurant or to eat out without one!
This is my meal, i had a mushroom mozarella burger with fries and coleslaw, but because we all had a side we had a banquet of choice laid out on the table from coleslaw, to onion rings, garlic bread, sweet potato fries! I didn't manage to get a photo of my dessert as it looked to good i delved straight in and didn't hang around for long. Tomorrow i will try to eat fairly well to counteract the massive intake tonight. We took alot of photos which is nice, to have something we can look back on!

happy birthday dad!

Today is my dads birthday and next week is my little sisters and the week after it's my other sisters and my little brothers. This time of the year is a very expensive one, but obviously a very fun, active and eventful one! Tonight us as a family we are all going out to celebrate with a meal at a new local diner which is american 1950s inspired which i am very much looking forward too. Next week all of our family are coming down to celebrate everyones birthday in a joint garden party outside which i have off work which will be super fun!
Our family is very big and very lively!

Here are a few photos of us as a family..
Dads girls.

dad and some of us girls.
We rarely get a photo opportunity of all of us together, but for dads present we have managed to enlarge a recent family photo up to a2 size and had it framed. It would be wrong for me to post this photo before he sees it first! So this space will be filled with a new updated photo soon. Even though my family can get quite caotic at times, i wouldn't change it for anything. Family is the most important thing in the whole world, and they will always be there for you.
